DESCRIPTION:

This plugin provides a 3D visualization of all colors in an image. Colors are represented as RGB-values, hence each color corresponds to a point in color space. The plugin helps in detecting color clipping etc.


INSTALLATION:

Simply unzip "colorcube.zip" and copy "colorcube.8bf" to your "\Photoshop\Plug-Ins\" folder, or whichever plugin folder your host program uses. Load your program, open an image, go to the plugins menu and select the plugin.


USAGE:

Image preview area: 
Left-click and drag to define a rectangular region of the image to be analyzed. 
Right-click and drag to move the image.

Zoom control: 
Use + and - to zoom in and out.

100%: 
Press to show actual pixel resolution.

Fit: 
Press to scale the image so it will fit entirely in the preview area.

Tilt/Pan:
Use these sliders to rotate the color cube. Alternatively, you can also spin the cube directly by left-clicking and dragging it.

Opacity:
Specifies the opacity of the 3D cloud representation from 0 (completely transparent) to 100 (completely opaque).

Color Cube display area:
Left-click and drag to spin the Color Cube.
Right-click to choose background color. This is useful e.g. to better display dark colors. 

Exit:
Press to exit the plugin. Note: The plugin is an analysis tool only. It will not modify your image.

Version 4 adds an "Opacity" slider to vizualize the 3D color density.
